Looking at the weekend ahead, on Saturday & Sunday Hartlepool and Alwoodley MCs are holding rounds of BTRDA championship with the Chris Langan Memorial & The Nic Ayre Memorial Autotests. Competing from the club are David Mosey (Mini) & Sue Sutcliffe (Corsa).
On both Saturday and Sunday there is Matthewson’s Live at the Great Yorkshire Showground. On the invite list of demonstrators are Dane Walker and Dave Boyes in the Ford Escort; Les McGuffog and Gary Hewitt in the Austin Healey; Simon Daly and Simon Bentley in the Skoda Favorit. There are plenty of other members displaying vehicles and marshaling over the weekend. The weather is looking good and tickets are still on sale if you are looking for something to do.
On Sunday, Peter Settle is running the Ilkley MC display of vehicles at Burley Summer Festival. 14 vehicles from the club are being displayed. This is a great event held on the cricket ground at Burley in Wharfedale with a great variety of cars to view. It really is a great mix of people and vehicles and is free of charge so pop down for a mooch and a chat. Thank you to all the members setting up the display and the exhibitors.
You will be getting repeated messages for volunteers for helping with the Jubilee Historic Rally. It does take some pressure off the organisers if we get volunteers names in early so we know what roles need filling. As you can see from the poster if you want to help in the market places, help PR the route or get in with the action and marshal there is a role for everyone. You do not have to be a member of the club and we will warmly welcome anyone (unless you are competing on the event)
