Joe and Irene had no experience of running pubs prior to taking on the lease of The Ings Hotel in 1999, though Irene had long dreamt of running a traditional pub. It didn’t hamper them at all, far from it. They turned the pub around and established it as a highly regarded local with the two of them behind the bar. Among the pubs many awards are Great British Pub Award for Cellarman of the Year; Best Leased & Tenanted pub for Yorkshire, North East & Scotland and The Leeds in Bloom Best Pub Display Gold Award.

The Flying Scotsman Rally is the premier event for vintage motor cars. Date 12th-14th April. The next adventure will depart from the tranquil and luxurious Carden Park, close to Chester. Our tracks initially head East into the Derbyshire Dales then we charge North, enjoying the Yorkshire Dales on our way to the Lake District. The second day continues full steam ahead through the Scottish Lowlands to overnight on the shores of Loch Lomond. A final day exploring new territory in Western Scotland leads to the final terminus, the world famous Gleneagles Hotel.
