There is an event for all on Saturday morning. No vehicle required, just some enthusiasm. 11am meet at the club container on Queensway, Guiseley. Bring some gloves and plyers. We are having a clear out, removing staples from stakes and tidying the equipment. Its not the most glamorous event but essential to ensure the emeight kit available for all the motorsport disciplines we offer event for. So please do come along and help.
Looking at the events over the weekend, we have lots of club members competing on various events.
on Saturday 13th September, the Galloway Hills Rally taking place in the forests of south west Scotland. Competing from the club and Dave and Jamie Forrest in the Ford Escort.
Also on Saturday is the Robin Alexander Sporting Trial hosted by Camel Vale MC in St Tudy, Cornwall. Representing the club is Simon Kingsley who is currently sitting in second place in the British Sporting Trials Championship.
On the evening of Saturday 13th September is the Meirion Rally based in Porthmadog competing from the club are Steve King and Peter Scott in the BMW Compact.
Another night rally is the Oaks Rally by Ecurie Oaks MC starting near Congleton. Competing from the club are John Bird and Amy Wolstenholme in the Ford Focus ST170; Chris Farrell and Simon Bentley in the Ford Escort.
On Sunday 14th September is the KLMC Little Devils Touring assembly, representing the club and David Taylor and Marilyn Smith in the Porsche 911SC; Dave and Beki Hedley in the Ford Puma; Ron and Kathleen Beecroft in the Mercedes SL400.
Also on Sunday is the Preston and District Vintage Car Trial at the Strid, Bolton Abbey. Competing from the club and Neil and Claire Raven in the MX5; Danny Gamble and Sam Towers in the Leige; Chris and Brian Sievers in the Suzuki Swift.
I know I keep on asking for volunteers for the Ilkley Jubilee Rally on the evening of Saturday 18th October and the day of Sunday 19th October, the sooner you volunteer the easier it will be to work out where to allocate spots. We need everyone we can as we have gone large this year to make it a spectacular event. So please get in touch if you are available.Â
