Looking at the weekend ahead Saturday 6th December sees the start of Britains toughest endurance rally, 5 legs covering 1500 miles and nearly 73 hours of non stop driving . Yes, it’s LEJOG. Competing from the club are Andy Lane and Iain Tullie in the Mazda Eunos roadster; Hampi Durrer and Henry Carr in the Volvo Amazon 121. The event passes through Norwood Edge from 15:45 hours on Sunday 7th December where Ilkley members are helping as marshals.
On Saturday 6th there are the Coppermine Grizedale stages roaring around the forests will be Kris Hopkins and Colin Watson in the Rover SD1. Im sure he will be a firm favourite of the spectators.
Sunday also sees the Jack Frost Rally and junior rally being held at Croft Circuit. We have lots of volunteers from the club at the finish and competing from the club are Darren Wilson and Jamie Forrest in the Escort Cosworth; Kyle Wilson and Mark Broadbent in the Mini Cooper S; Stephen Bethwaite and Ann Dixon in the Vauxhall Nova; Jaime Wilson and Harry Forrest in the Peugeot 107 and McKenzie Snowden and Rob Fagg in the VW UP.
Entries are now open on the sport 80 website for the New Year Trial on Sunday 4th January.
