A superb car trial was had by all on Wednesday evening at the Strid. Thank you to Roy and Ian for running the event and John for doing the magic with the scores (results on the website). We had some new marshals on the hills and some members spectating who are ready to dip their toes in the water and start competing.
Looking to the weekend ahead on Saturday 28th June there is the Shelsley Historic Sporting Trial at Shelsey Walsh in the Malverns. Competing from the club is Simon Kingsley.
In the evening on the roads of the Eryri National Park is the PK Memorial Road Rally. This is hosted by Bala DMC and competing from the club are Steve King and Simon Bentley in the BMW 318 ti compact.
Sunday 29thJune is the Ilkley Classic Car Run organised by Kevin Goodings. A very popular event which filled up extremely quickly with crews who will be busy cleaning and polishing their prides and joys prior the the event. It starts at the Olive Tree Cafe, Studley Royal and finishes at the Smiths Arms, Beckwithshaw. The weather is meant to be glorious, so do have a fabulous time!
Wednesday 2nd July is committee night at Guiseley Cricket Club which is open for all members to attend.
Next Club Event
Ilkley & District motor club will promote their annual Classic Car run on Sunday 29th June 2025. Many of our members and friends are owners of classic and interesting vehicles but the run is open to everyone and modern vehicles will also be welcome. Note that the entry is limited to 50 cars and once full, entrants will be informed and placed on the reserve list. Signing on and teas / coffees will be available from 09:30 in the Olive Tree Café. Note that the Olive Tree does not open until 09:30, so please do not arrive any earlier. The route is approximately 110 miles on OS maps 92, 93, 99 and 104. A Tulip road book which also includes marked maps will be provided. The entry fee of £12-00 per car of two people includes a choice of any regular coffee or tea from the Café drinks menu. Food is NOT included in the entry fee this year, but a full choice of breakfast items, including vegetarian options are available to purchase. The finish is at the Smiths Arms, Beckwithshaw and food will be available for those wishing to eat after the event.
